Elsie joined Augustine Bater Binks LLP as an Associate in September 2020. Before joining the firm, she summered with a legal aid clinic and articled with a full-service regional firm in Kingston, Ontario.
Elsie obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, where she double majored with distinction in History and Political Science.
At the University of New Brunswick, Elsie was the 2019 recipient of the J. Gordon Petrie Q.C. Prize in Labour and Employment Law for academic achievement, as well as the 2018 recipient of the John Teed Prize in Civil Procedure, an award presented to the student with the highest standing in Civil Procedure.
While in law school Elsie was involved in social justice volunteer opportunities with Pro Bono Students Canada, the New Brunswick Access to Justice Coalition, the Fredericton Legal Advice Clinic, and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund.
Born and raised in downtown Ottawa, Elsie is an active member of the Byward Market business community, currently sitting on the Board of Management for the Byward Market Business Improvement Area (BIA).
Outside of legal practice, you can find her riding her bike and spending time with family and friends.
